We are married since almost 40 years and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

We are Japanese Organic Green tea lovers.

In 2019, unsatisfied by what we were finding on the Japanese Organic green tea markets, we decided to go to Japan to find THE green tea we were looking for.

We spent one month in Japan, driving more than 2500 km from Nagasaki to Tokyo visiting the areas and searching for the best Japanese tea producers.

We met in Kyoto, Uji and Shizuoka regions some of the best and awesome tea makers of fabulous organic green teas.

Very grateful of what we learned and tasted, we decided to share our discovery. In addition, our teas are packed in Japan by an organic recognized (JONA) packing company in Shizuoka leaving no doubt regarding the Japanese Origin of our teas unlike many European Distributors where the origin of the product might be questionable.

During our fantastic journey, we visited some extraordinary castles full of history that we decided to give one of those Castle names to each of our tea products.

All RYCATEA® teas are JONA, JAS, USDA and Canada organic certified, which means 100 % organic and are grown by incredible passionate tea makers accredited JONA and USDA.

The labelling of our products in Europe does not bear the European Organic Logo because we do not wish to increase our costs of goods sold with significant fees to be paid to European certification bodies which would results anyway with our customers supporting such costs.

Instead, we considered that the costs of the European Certification Bodies should be supported by the ones who produce or distribute Non-Organic Products. They are already competing with very low prices due to the poor quality of their goods and this is already unfair.

Our travel plans has been perturbated by the pandemic but we are planning to return in Japan during autumn 2022 in order to meet our producers and may be add new wonderful products.

We never negotiate the prices of the tea as we believe that quality has a price and that these tea growers must earn a good living to offer the best of their amazing teas. But we always ask our tea producers to provide us with the first best quality of their products.
